Welcome to ImgOptimiser ("we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

We collect the following types of information:

• Personal Data: When you register an account, we collect your name, email address, and a unique user ID. This is necessary for authentication and to provide you with our services.
• Subscription & Payment Data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor, Stripe, will collect your payment information. We store your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status (e.g., 'active', 'trialing') to manage your plan. We do not store your credit card details.
• Usage Data: For free plan users, we track the number of images you optimise each month to enforce usage limits. This count resets at the beginning of each calendar month.
• Setup Configuration Data: If you save an optimisation setup, we store your configuration settings, including compression levels, guidance notes, and any uploaded CSV data for keyword guidance. This data is linked to your user account.

We want to be explicitly clear about the data we do not store:

• We DO NOT store your images. Your images are processed in your browser and sent directly to Google's AI service for analysis. They are never saved on our servers.
• We DO NOT store the content of your CSV files permanently in a way that is readable after processing. The CSV data is converted to a Data URI, which is temporarily held as part of a saved setup and passed to the AI during processing. It is not parsed or stored in a separate database table on our servers.
• We DO NOT store your payment card information. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Provide, operate, and maintain our services.
• Process your transactions and manage your subscription.
• Communicate with you, including sending password reset emails and important service updates.
• Enforce our terms and usage limits.
• Improve our application and user experience.

Our service relies on the following third-party providers:

• Firebase (Google): For user authentication and database services (Firestore).
• Stripe: For secure payment processing and subscription management.
• Google AI: For processing images and CSV data to generate SEO-friendly metadata. Data is used "in-flight" and is subject to Google's AI privacy policies.
• Google Analytics: To understand how our service is used and to improve it. This may collect anonymous usage data.

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access & Update: You can access and update your name and manage your subscription in the "My Account" section of the application.
• Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from the "My Account" section. This action is irreversible and will permanently delete your authentication record and all associated data from our Firestore database, including saved setups.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
